A Message From Our Founder, Anne Baker
We are a small family business. I do the cooking, my husband Matt does the labelling and occasionally assists with the food preparation and our kids Daisy and Joseph help out on the stall and are heavily involved in the tasting process.
My dad always said I was born 40 years too late. I am a vintage girl at heart. I love the 1940s and 1950s and use a lot of genuine vintage recipes to make our range of products. Everything we make is done by hand. We do not use any preservatives or additives. We use locally sourced produce from a local greengrocer in Ebbw Vale. Some are even homegrown. Occasionally, we visit local fruit farms in Brecon and Newport.
From My Family to Yours
All our products are named after actual family members or friends. So yes, there really is an Aunty Jo. She has been my best friend for 34 years. There really is a ‘Griffalo’; he is the hubby of Aunty Deanne who has a marmalade and chutney named after her. My ‘wee granny’ is a very small bundle of 90-year-old cantankerous Geordie energy who taught me how to bake.
Grandpa Cliff is my dad and if he was still here, I probably would not have that much chutney left to sell. Dad always loved my cooking and I like to think he gets a real kick out of Miss Daisy’s.
